Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Would you like to share your passion for aquatics with others? Do you also have an interest and experience in health and fitness? Would you like to use your knowledge and skills to provide successful aquatics and health and well-being programs? As the aquatics program director, you will be responsible for organizing, monitoring, supervising, and maintaining aquatics programs at the Y. You will also provide support to group fitness and active older adult classes, the fitness floor and health and well-being staff.

If hired for this position you will provide an impactful member experience by planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating programs, activities and events in aquatics and health and well-being. You will ensure high quality member-focused programs by providing leadership and hands-on instruction in groups and on a one-on-one basis.

In this position you may be responsible for maintaining quality swim lessons, water fitness classes, swim team programs, adaptive programs, and lifeguard training. You will direct and supervise aquatics and health and well-being program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. You will also performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.

Are you a good fit?

  • I have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • I have 2 years’ experience in supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
  • I have experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
  • I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
