Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator will assist with the responsibility for all components of the aquatic department. Every effort will be made to operate a first -rate aquatic program which will focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The incumbent will assist with the operation and administration of all the aquatic programs at the facility and within the community. The successful candidate will involve in the coordination and delivery of pool programming, including swim lessons, family swims, vacation and summer camps and special events, is responsible for the management of the pool deck to ensure the highest standard for aquatic safety and actively teach /lifeguard 25-30 hours each week or as needed.

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and/or at least 2 years of prior experience in the aquatics field, and 1 year of experience in supervision, including directing and training staff and volunteers and the knowledge in the maintenance of the facilities, equipment, program, staff and schedules of the program area. The successful candidate must possess technical skills related to lifeguard training and safety and is currently certified in Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Aquatic Facilities Management, CPR, First Aid, O2 and AED. The Aquatics Coordinator must have the ability to establish a supportive relationship with staff, volunteers, members and program members, be able to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economics segments of the community. Being able to make sound judgement, excellent oral and written communication skills and work as part of a team is essential.
